Barona street

A view from the edge of the Riga Old Town - its is at the back. Barona street is almost like a straight line - there is a small bend at the end of it. Large part of the street is set up for shopping... at least it was before financial paralisis hit it.

Drinks

From what I can see this corner shop in Maskachka intention is to inform potential customers in three languages they are selling drinks. The funny part is the Russian bit - "napitki", because Russian language is using Cyrillic alphabet, "napitki" would probably make no sense to the Russian visiting Riga.

Equal rights

Evening sunlit TV antenna and an old plant in the far end of Zaku sala, both have equal rights for sunshine.

Azur

We all know shopping malls as metal boxes with few windows and no architectural value. This one is different. Behind the glass you can see the inner circle of Azur shopping centre. It gives you clue of what it looks like as a whole.

Agenskalns

Wooden architecture is common in Pardaugava. Some of it is going through the refurbishment, some of it still waiting for it.

This photo is taken near Faculty of Physics on Edvarda Smilga street.

Relatively

I often wonder, how interesting is it, sitting hours of your life like that. Phenomenon of relatively many men sitting on relatively thin ice on relatively cool day hoping for a relatively big catch.

Riga International Airport

This photo is from the local chain restaurant Lido (in RIX). Incidentally Lido in English means Fly.

Baltinavas street if translated means "White-Not" street. Well, I don't think so.

Berga Bazārs

Two of many entrances into the block which is named strangely - instead of being called tirgus (market in Latvian) it is called bazar (market in Russian). The meaning is still valid - every fourth Saturday of month there is a Green Market - only Organic Farmers allowed.

See more here.

Slokas street

I don't know this part of Riga that well - I think it is either on Slokas or Kleistu street... I know - too lazy to look on a map.
