Castle of Light. 8th floor is being done now. This is NOT the last floor, which will be in use. There will be 3 floors above before reaching the floors which will probably have limited functionality.

Control

This is public transport controller. This retired person was thrown out of the tram and made to pay a fine because she bought discounted ticket for retired people. Apparently she had to be registered in Riga to be eligible for the discount. Since she was registered in Cesis, she had to pay a full price.

Juglas canal (seen in the pic) overflows very often affecting surrounding buildings. Behind me is a very nice Šašlik Bārs (barbecue restaurant). It is called Piepe.

Riga skyline

I always wanted to make a photo from this unusual spot - it gathers in one frame three distinct areas - Kipsala (Ķīpsala) isaland with its Swedbank highrise, St. Peter's Church in the Old Town and Central Train Station with its land mark - Riga Clock and Sky Bar (taken in the April).

As a (crime) preventative measure every school gets a policeman (left bottom corner) and most schools have surveillance cameras (right top corner) :)
