Clearing the area from snow. Then there will be few layers of water added very quickly allowing to launch skating season.

When it is icy, it is better to slow down a bit.

Tradition

Novus is a game invented in Latvia. Nowadays not very popular due to aggressive marketing of pool. One public place you can still play it is the club/bar PIENS.

Another one I found in Riga - these evergreen species do not reach up too high in this climate - that's why they always fascinate me.

The new studio (on Brīvības (freedom) str.) for the radio station was created by some crew members who used to work for SWH radio. The new station is partly financed, but, apparently, not owned by one Russian billionaire who is involved in other ventures in Latvia - Z-Towers and Latvijas Balzams.

Snow

Buried a lot, but not as bad as Estonia... I guess.

Ice rink

This was cleared few days ago. Waste of time - it is all gone after yesterday snow fall.

Just another angle of National Library. There is a rumor around the city - there will be some government supported secret technology installed on top of the building related to transmitting radio signals.

... it is the same bank which used to be called PAREX. Now it is using symbols similar to the flag of Latvia... to anchor some good feelings about bankrupt bank.
