On the height of almost 100 metres from TV tower on Zaku island we can clearly see the centre of Riga and the old town. It is settled on the right bank of the river Daugava. There are four bridges that can be hardly seen on the photo and the fifth one behind the scene that is still being built. Starting from it - Dienvidu bridge, Salu bridge, Railroad bridge, Akmens bridge and Vansu bridge. Old Riga is among the last three.Sunday, 16 September 2007
Isle of hares
On the height of almost 100 metres from TV tower on Zaku island we can clearly see the centre of Riga and the old town. It is settled on the right bank of the river Daugava. It's taken me a while to get here -- haven't had much free time lately. It's fun to see such great photos of a place I will probably never get to visit.

Actually Old City is between Railroad and Vansu bridge. So, technically it's between last three bridges. :P

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely panoramic view this is - the intracacy of the paths on the island is lovely to see - an oasis of green in the middle of the river.
