Baltic Ivy (hedera helix)
This is a first evergreen ivy I found (in fact my mom noticed it) in the wild near Riga - in Jurmala. The winters can be harsh, therefore this must be very winter hardy because it has climbed some 4-5 metres above the ground.
Wonderful greens!
ReplyDeletea beautiful symptom of climate change?
ReplyDeleteI did some research on araucarias, and sadly, it's difficult to get them out of the country due to regulations (it is protected).
ReplyDeleteIs hedera helix used there for medicines? I know there's an expectorant here that uses extract of it.
