Latvian Symbols

If you visit Riga these days make sure you take a walk in the evening near Daugava River to see spectacular light shows. Latvia is celebrating its 90th birthday and Riga as well as other cities is decorated. Click HERE to see Riga illuminated.

hi, Kris. I am not too sure what it means when you say it "has squeezed in a fair bit"?

...:D in such a short period of time. Yes. The only reason I did not get you straight away is because I (as well as most Latvians) see historically themselves as very old nation living on Baltic cost for thousands of years ignoring (or forced to) the concept of Latvia as a country.

In fact Latvian and Lithuanian languages are most archaic form from Indo-European language basket and are used in trying to recreate the Old Indoeuropean language.
