The new building of Ministry of Interior in Čiekurkalns is also known to be called the Pentagon of Latvia.

  1. Very fine photo. Why do they call it the "Pentagon" if it is not connected with the military?

    Maybe it's five-sided?

  2. Well if you count the roof it surely has five sides:) I guess Latvians just call it this way, because it is bigger than most other government buildings. Latvians like comparisons: Sigulda which is 98 meters above sea level is called the Latvian Switzerland, Riga is little Paris and my bath tub I call Miami Beach.
