- Is this the only way? To forget everything!

Nothing extreme today. There are so many cobbled streets in Riga that despite their visual appeal I'm occasionally starting to dislike driving on them:) Most of them are in the Old Town though this is fairly out of it and the two floor wooden buildings are adding to the lovely atmosphere.

Wow. Can you just imagine the history that has rolled over these cobblestones? It must be more than enough to interest everyone. A beautiful picture to be sure. I know they are rough to drive on and the car makes a loud noise but they are nice to look at. And think that each stone was gathered from a field, by hand, and put into a cart and hauled to their final destination and then put in place and that whole process must have been repeated millions of times to make the cobblestone streets.

I just discovered a earlier that two baby robins have left the nest. Or one is still there. I have photographed those and will show them on Monday.

Agree, it is very good looking but I don't like driving on. BTW, it is very European to me.

We still have a lot of them in the streets of Paris but they are progressively removed. It's probably more convenient but much less "European" as Ben said.

Very ancient looking and I like the look of it but I imagine that it can be hard on car tires too.

The price one has to pay for quaint old traditions. But I hope these roads stay put.Its the local type of thing I like to see on CDP
