St. Jacob’s Catholic Church

This building is very old. It is so old that I am not afraid to say, that Riga was almost built around it...almost :) This gothic structure is a church, construction began in the early 1226 and there are beautyful arches inside representing those ancestral times. The lion on the fence post has nothing to do with this church, but with the building where the Saeima has settled - The parliament of the republic of Latvia. It has been built in 1867.
