Wooden architecture - Kalnciema street


Kalnciema street area is full of brilliant wooden buildings. Because it is a main street going from airport to centre, it was refurbished heavily before NATO summit in Riga in 2006.

I've always found old wooden buildings to be interesting. They certainly don't build like they used to.

Almost looks like a church. My first thought was how did they keep the wood looking so new and fresh - I guess if they refurbished in 2006 - that's my answer..
