The water transport has always been a part of Riga infrastructure, but far not good at all to my mind. The old river buses of soviet times really are metal scraps, that have become inefficient and unfriendly to nature long time ago. So couple years ago a new company KMK started its struggle against beaurocracy to bring water transport in Riga canal and Daugava up to new and much more pleasant levels.
