The building is covered in coloured and grey small stones. It is a church. I have been in it some 15 years ago. It was the time when I had many questions about god, religion and spirituality. I was in my teens and thought... I had impression that someone has got the answers. I like the design anyway.

I think it is cool idea. I support any such initiative.
I'm highly interested in religious architecture (the meaning behind it and religion as a cultural phenomenon) even though I don't consider myself religious at all (long story, but after my diverse life experiences and contact with some religious movements, I think I have got some answers).
The Church reminds me a lot of GaudÃ's works.
So 'Dievs' is the Latvian for 'God'? I think I know where the word comes from (you can track down that word to the Indoeuropean god of Thunder, Dyaus). In Spanish, we say 'Dios'.
That is right right right, Crist :).
Latvian and Lithuanian languages are very very archaic. Not old, but archaic. That means they have not evolved much over the time.
I wish I could say something in Spanish without googling:)
I love it too!
And so unusual. Instead of stained glass windows, it's colorful stone mosaics. Beautiful!
Somebody put alot of time into that. I'd suppose the inside is well kept also.
Where is it located in Riga? Maybe I could have a look irl. :)
