Vansu bridge down the river Daugava

One more photo of Vansu bridge, this time in late afternoon. It was taken from the left bank of river Daugava. Maybe it seems unusual to see such a big vacant territory in the center of Riga, but the thing is, the place is flooding frequently, and for the time being nothing have been done to solve this situation.

Nice shot. I know sometimes in flood plain areas, they put parkland (open spaces) so the public can enjoy the area when it's not flooded.

Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog and the nice comments.

Interesting architecture. Its so flat there I can see that it could flood.
