Many old church buildings have small heads in connection with water drain from roof..then the water come out of the mouth - maybe this had the same function in old days. As I remember there is like a deapht in front of this side of the church could have been for a water basin ?
If you look closely at the sculpture in the middle of a photo you will spot a small face. Can you see it?
