This area next to Skanstes business/residential district, I guess, is currently being cleared for the construction of another business centre with few highrises.

I sometimes mess with 3D graphics. Here is imaginary higreise I drew next to Rietumu Banka box shped office building.

I promise that my artistic intervention in looks of Riga will stop here:)

What now?

Skanstes highrises - already finished, but quite empty. Anyway they fit in this plain area enriching the landscape.

We took this one on our way to the Reval sky bar from somewhere beween 10th and 20th floor. You can see "Duntes nami" curved highrise furter behind.

Old fashioned modern Riga

Highrises in Riga are very recent trend and I like the diversity they bring to the architectural statements of Riga. This recent addition to the skyline I decided to post in black&white to create a false sense of historical evidence of Riga long-drawn highrise culture:)

Near new high rises policemen were stopping literally every biker to make sure he has a drivers licence with corresponding category and "face control" after which they decided to do the alco test or set the rider free :)

Skanstes Virsotnes (Peaks)

Another nearly finished building from new Riga business and residential area on Skanstes street (remember the Rietumu Banka with helipad). Here you can buy a flat in one of the four 24-floor high-rises with the view to the Old Riga towers.
