Condition

Imagine, your car under a snow pile and under condition, you forgot, where you parked it. Btw back there at the end of Maza kalna str. you can see an orthodox cathedral in Ivan's cemetery.

All Saints

An Orthodox church of all Saints, that was built in 1815 near one of the oldest cemetery in Riga. Weird, but the address is Katolu str. 10 (Catholic str.)

Birds

This Orthodox Church facade is kept and maintained to look spectacular at all times. It is no surprise though because it is in the Riga city centre, but it was not always like that (the good looks). Under Soviet regime 60 Orthodox churches were closed down and they were not looked after.

Bank and Church

This is photo from Brivibas (Freedom) street is ironic as it illustrates opposites of modern and "civilised" world. The yellow building is a Orthodox Church with beggars in front of it. The building on the right is occupied by money maker Rietumu (West) Bank.

Shopping Mall

Many of you have noticed that philosophy of consumerism is contrary to the philosophy of Christianity. As I am making this photo from "Mols" - one of the largest supermarkets in Riga towards an Orthodox Church, I witness their peaceful co-existence next to each other.

Bell

Proper weird placement for this massive bell - on the ground in Orthodox church territory near the Central Market. The letters you can see here are in Russian language, but I don't know this Russian dialect and can not translate it.

Cafē Sala

Yet another bakery - at the beginning of Brivibas street. It was my birthday yesterday and I bought some pastries here – delicious.

I decided eventually on another reflection today - a bit spooky one because of the threes:)

An Ortodox Church

There are about ten Orthodox Churches in Riga. By no means this is the most spectacular one, though its pretty hidden away from public eyes in Pardaugava on Meza street.

"I don't need religion, I don't need anyone"

This Orthodox church was built in 1884. It turned into a planetarium during soviet times, but now it has regained it's authenticy for some reason :). It is hidden by the park trees from one side and bothered by city transport from the opposite side, so the most reasonable viewpoint is from above.
