Two o'clock at night

Last year on a rainy October day I posted a picture with ladies who sell flowers on the street. Nothing has changed, they still do. Maybe it doesn't surprise you, but as a matter of fact it's two o'clock at night and you can have almost any kind of flowers. It is at the edge of Vermanes park on Terbatas street.

Near Old Riga

I also have captured a monument of freedom from the left side, but more visible are the padlocks on the bridge, the story of which was told in the post on 11th of December 2007. By the way Old Riga is on the right.

A house under the bridge

At night this park is very calm. It is Bastejkalns, a very small hill surrounded by park and divided by Riga canal that reflects another illuminated building at night.

Cars with number plates like this can be parked anywhere. Even on pavement, it is the power of the two letters "CD". They stand for Corpse Diplomatique.

Zooooom!!!

Sometimes interesting things come out when I play with a zoom. These are cars going down the bridge lightened by lamp posts.

One very old house in Old Riga. It is the middle one of so called three brothers. You can see the year it was built on its fasade, but there is ANNO 1746 on the door decoration and "Glory to God alone"

The monument

Karlis Ulmanis was the last president of Latvia before the Soviet occupation, place of his burial is unknown. He was also the Prime Minister for several terms and is associated with the boom in Latvian economy between the 2 world wars, where its agriculture exports were well known in the whole Europe. In the background you can see the renovated Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Old Riga looks empty these days and the only snow flakes are unfortunately fake...again

Grab this cars steering wheel and take a ride. You should understand the meaning of Dodges
slogan. This sports car turns people heads.

So blue

When all the bars are closed, when all the fun loving individuals have left Old Riga's cobbled streets, the old town falls asleep and suddenly it looks so blue to me.

Since I am officially away, technically Karlis is in charge of RDP updates. However I still have some photos I would like to post and give a break to Karlis:) So these are colour changing fountains at the very beginning of Brivibas (Freedom) Boulevard near The Orthodox Cathedral.
