In latvian slang we use to call a sign like this a brick. Just because it reminds one. The meaning though is recognized worldwide as driving forbidden.

Miles from there

Even in a bright daylight you can't see yesterday's spot. This is miles from there, the other far end of Brivibas str. near Brivdabas (open air) museum.

Wavy street

This cobbled Katrinas street is so deformed, because it carries lots of trucks heading to Riga cargo terminal.

How motivated and well rewarded one should be, to do the job in good faith?

Our South bridge, that is famous for its enormous expenses and foulty outcome. It should be more even and allow more than 70km/h.

Police chase

After few collisions with other cars and scooter this old Audi ripped off its rear suspension and was unable to get away from police chase. The driver was obviously drunk and lost some sanity. I saw the big finale, and fortunately it came out without casualties.

Snowdrops on two wheels

Two very impatient bikers try to enjoy the ride on two wheels on a day that is too cold for that, not to mention the road condition. Despite all, I am also one, who has opened season already.

Ausekla street in Riga

It is located in a very exclusive area near Elizabetes street. It is a one way street and is supposed to be quite, but its not entirely true in rush hours... as you can see. Today it seems some family is moving in or out.

Ease the traffic

The new South bridge from Pardaugava side, hopefully it will ease the traffic connecting both parts of Riga.

Not enough seatbelts

..."Oh, did I scratch your car? Sorry, I didn't see you behind!"

Road closed

For some reason the road is closed. It might be because of some activities at presidents palace, for example VIP visitors transportation or preparation work for public event by the river bank.

Busy street

Busy street of Riga in the middle of the working day. It is a corner of A. Caka and Matisa streets.

Unlucky manoeuvre

Was it a wind breeze or an unlucky manoeuvre, that rolled the advertisement trailer over towards grass lane and bumped into a lamp post. The van made a spin of almost 180 and stopped , the lamp post went down and the trailer landed back on it's wheels. This was not a set-up just to show a police car that Aigars promised before :)

Rainy days

It is so hard for me to accept the fact that the summer is over. When it is raining like this for half an hour it is OK, if only it is followed by the warmth of the sun. Unfortunately it's raining every day and the temperature is hardly reaching 10 degrees by Celsius.

On the way to work

This morning at 8:56 as always Vansu bridge lane towards city was jammed. Those, who need to start work at 9 o'clock, will not be there in time. I am on the rush as well, though as it can be seen in the mirror, my road is open and I am sure I'll make it.
