1905

70 people were shot dead and about 200 injured during peaceful demonstration by army forces in 13th of January 1905. That was the beggining of revolution. This monument is on 13th Janvara str. by the river Daugava near Railway bridge.

Rail Bridge over Daugava river


Good news in this rather worrying financial climate are always welcome - here comes one for Riga city. With newly installed illuminated Railway Bridge Riga has won the honorable LUCI prize of second best illuminated city in the World. Riga came after Seul in award ceremony in Mexico.

Five segments

The old metal arch bridge lost its charm every time the sun sets. But that is a history, beacause few weeks ago the railway bridge across Daugava was lightened at last, and now I would call it the most beautiful bridge at night. Here you can see a train in motion as well.
